Tram – The most popular means of transportation in Antalya

Antalya Metropolitan Municipality announced that the nostalgia tram will not be able to serve until April 5, 2024 due to the works to be carried out.Maintenance and repair works are starting on the Nostalgia Tram Line, which offers a nostalgic atmosphere in Antalya. Features of the payment system in transport

Payment for transportation can be made using non-cash methods through special terminals. The following options are available: AntalyaKart transportation card (card cost starting from 1 TRY). Regular bank card with contactless payment functionality. Additionally, you can purchase limited-use single-ride cards from special kiosks or directly from the driver.

Fare Prices

The fare price for trams and buses is 3.2 TRY. If you use an AntalyaKart, transfers to other modes of transportation within one hour are free of charge.Payment for bus rides on routes 600 and 800 is double the regular fare. Children under the age of 6 travel for free. On holidays such as Uraza Bayram and others, no payment is required for transportation. Even the turnstiles on the high-speed tram lines remain open throughout the day.

Antalya is served by two municipal tram lines.

AntRay

AntRay is a branch of the light rail tram system. Its route runs through the central part of the resort and connects the districts of Aksu and Fatih. You can quickly reach popular destinations such as:

old city;

air terminal;

bus station;

large shopping malls;

EXPO exhibition hall.

The fare is paid by Antalyakart card only.

Working hours Antreya from 06:00 to 00:00. Transport runs every 15 minutes.

The first is the old tramway, also called Heritage Tram or nostalgic tramway. It has a total of 11 stops and runs in the city center from the Ancient Museum to the Zerdalilik district. It’s route is along the waterfront and stops at the Old Port,  and the famous Clock Tower, among other places. These nostalgic tramway cars came from Nuremberg, they were a gift from Antalya’s twin city, Nuremberg.

The second and newer tramway line is called AntRay. In 2016, it was extended beyond the Aksu district to the garden exhibition site. Ultra-modern cars run on a 30-kilometer route with 49 stops.

This extension means that you can now reach the Airport by tram. The trains run every 10 to 20 minutes and usually operate from 6 am to midnight.

It is also possible to go to the Perge, 16 kilometers northeast of Antalya, by tramway.

Nostalji Tramvayı

The Nostalji Tramvayı is a small tram line with a length of about 4.7 km. It covers the entire coastline, starting its journey from the local Archaeological Museum, along the Konyaaltı Beach and park, and ending on the eastern side of the Old Town.

The Nostalji Tramvayı is popular among tourists as it passes by notable attractions in Antalya such as:

Hadrian’s Gate;

Kaleichi district;

Yivli minaret;

Hidirlik tower.

Also, sitting on this tram line, you can get to the most famous and populated hotels.

Schedule transport from 07:00 to 23:00. On Sunday, the schedule is shifted forward by an hour. Transport runs every 30 minutes.
