KPU Banyuwangi member for the Division of Voter Education, Community Participation, and Human Resources, Enot Sugiharto, announced that the pantarlih have been carrying out their duties from June 24 until July 24. Enot mentioned that in performing their duties, pantarlih should not work merely at their desks but must go directly to the field by visiting local residents’ homes. “The goal is to ensure that the voter data for the upcoming Pilkada on November 27 is truly valid,” he stated on June 27, 2024.

For reference, KPU Decision No. 360 of 2024 concerns the determination of the outcomes of the Presidential and Vice-Presidential elections, and the election of members of the DPR, DPD, Provincial DPRD, and Regency/Municipal DPRD at the national level in the 2024 General Election.

He mentioned that during the post-election period, there have been several changes in voter data due to various factors. “There have indeed been changes in the data. For instance, some residents have passed away. Additionally, there are residents who were not of age in the last election but will be 17 years old for this Pilkada,” he added. Therefore, Enot emphasized that such conditions require re-data collection through pantarlih. “This is done to ensure that the final voter list for the Pilkada is truly valid and accurate,” he explained.

“His leadership capacity is also proven. If an understanding of field issues is needed, friends and cadres in the PKS faction in the DKI DPRD will be good sources and inputs, given their daily tasks in legislation, budgeting, and oversight in Jakarta Province,” said Sudirman in a written statement, as quoted on Tuesday (25/6/2024).

“Concerning the 45-day timeframe provided by the MK, it will not disrupt the registration schedule for prospective regional head candidates and their deputies,” Idham conveyed to the media, as quoted on Saturday, June 22, 2024. Idham elaborated that after the PSU process is finalized based on the MK’s ruling, the KPU RI will hold an open plenary meeting related to KPU Decision No. 360 of 2024 . “After all follow-up actions on the MK’s decision are completed, KPU RI will hold an open plenary meeting to amend KPU Decision No. 360 of 2024,” Idham explained .

Hasyim added that in the 2024 Regional Elections, the KPU RI will also adopt special polling stations to ensure the fulfillment of voting rights for citizens. “To ensure that our citizens within the designated electoral areas can still vote, such as workers in plantations and mines who cannot return to their TPS at the address on their ID cards, special location TPS will be prepared,” Hasyim emphasized.

The PSU must be conducted within 45 days of the ruling . Responding to this, KPU RI Commissioner Idham Holik said that they have prepared for this as per the rules. Idham confirmed that the PSU timeline will not disrupt the 2024 Regional Elections.

Additionally, Sudirman said Sohibul Iman also has extensive experience in politics. Sohibul Iman was elected three times as a member of the DPR in 2009-2014, 2014-2019, and 2024-2029 periods. He also served as Deputy Speaker of the DPR RI.
