How to Connect American Express with QuickBooks Online

Step 1: In the Beginning, You Need to Connect a Bank or Credit Card Account

  • You have the choice to connect with as many accounts as you require.
  • You can connect your bank for personal as well as business uses.
  • But, you can track and sort out your all transactions.
  • Go to your Banking menu and all options will appear on your screen
  • Hit the click on the Banking tab
  • Now, you have to choose theConnect AccountIf you do this the first time
  • If you already created then hit your click on theAdd Account or Link Account
  • Locate your Bank, you can be associated with most banks including small credit unions.

Step 2: In this step, Learn to Download the Recent Transactions

Once you connect with your account, you can automatically download the transactions. So, users don’t need to go through manual processing. Update and get the recent transactions with the following steps:

  • Open the Transaction menu or Banking menu
  • Enter your click on theBankingtab
  • Choose theUpdateoption
  • Wait until all recent transactions will be updated on your screen.

Step 3: Require to getting Approval of the Way it Categorizes Them

After downloading the transactions, you are required to get approval for the way it categorizes them, perform the following instructions step-by-step:

  • From the Banking menu homepage, choose the file for the account that you need to review
  • Hit the click in theReviewtab to begin to review
  • Now, you can review them one by one.

So that you don’t have to manually enter your transactions, and connect your bank or credit card account. To keep your business information current in QuickBooks, you can connect multiple business and personal bank accounts.

Note: You can link your American Express Business account to your QuickBooks Online account. There are several steps involved in things.

  • You have to go to Bookkeeping and then you have to select Transactions.
  • Select Connect account from the Bank transactions tab.
  • In the Search section, type the URL or name of your bank, then choose it.

Note: You can manually upload transactions if you can’t locate your bank.

Fill out the Login and Password sections with your Sign information, then you have to click Continue. 

  • From the dropdown menu, you have to choose the account you want to link and the date range for pulling transactions. Next, you have to click Next.

Note: Some banks allow you to retrieve transactions from the previous 90 days. Others can go back up to 24 months.

  • Select Next after choosing your account type from the Account type selection.

Note: In QuickBooks, you have to select the account type that corresponds to your chart of accounts. Select +Add new if the proper account type isn’t displayed.
