CBSE Board Class 12 English Syllabus for 2025 Exams

The comprehensive CBSE Class 12 English syllabus 2024–25 intends to improve students’ language proficiency, literary skills, and critical thinking abilities. The section weighing 18% in the board examination includes a Notice (4 marks), a Formal/Informal Invitation (4 marks), Formal Letters (5 marks) and an Article/ Report Writing (5 marks). Class 12 English Syllabus: Language section

The section weighing 40% in the board examination includes Extract-based questions, Short answer-type questions & Long answer-type questions. The extract-based questions section includes three seen passages, two from prose/drama and the other from poetry. The referred-to-text questions can be multiple-choice, very short, and short-answer questions. The Short & Long Answer Questions with internal choices include two prose and poetry questions from Flamingo and 1 question from Vistas.
